What is the downside of keyword normalization
Keyword normalization in API3 includes a number of different things, the most important of which are spell checking and 'query backoff' (removing words from a search phrase one at a time.) Spell checking may change word spellings in ways not intended, while query backoff may cause matches for parts of the original search phrase when that is not what you are looking for. Unfortunately, the current design has all these features (and more) grouped together, so I would not recommend using this feature at this time. In the future, we will be separating these different steps to allow turning off each one individually.
